The number of children subjected to online child sexual abuse is increasing. All forms of child sexual abuse are serious, but when abuse occurs in the digital sphere, there are specific factors that practitioners should be aware of. For example, in these particular cases there are often chat logs, pictures, films and other documentation present. This report examines the support and treatment received by children who have been subjected to online child sexual abuse, and by their families, from practitioners after the abuse has been discovered. It also explores what practitioners see as the distinct characteristics of online child sexual abuse compared to other forms of abuse.

Partnering for Prevention Project - Imara

Clinical Supervision - Imara
Imara offers trauma-informed clinical supervision for therapists and professionals including school staff, DSLs, social workers and more. Our team of qualified and trainee creative clinical supervisors offer specialised clinical supervision using creative approaches, giving you space to talk, reflect and get support with your professional practice. We can provide either individual or group supervision. Our clinical supervisors are also qualified therapists who are experienced in working with trauma and we can offer support and advice with secondary traumatic stress.

Post-Adoption Support for Children and Families - Imara
We are a registered provider on the Adoption East Midlands (AEM) framework for Nottinghamshire. We offer post-adoption support for children and young people who are adopted or placed on special guardianship order. We provide a range of specialist trauma informed creative arts and play therapies for adopted children and young people, as well as support group programs.

Specialist Training for Professionals Working with Children, Young People and Families - Imara
Co-produced with survivors, delivered by practitioners and designed to be creative and experiential, Imara’s training aims to improve the experiences of future survivors by equipping professionals with the knowledge and confidence to respond calmly and appropriately to child sexual abuse, domestic abuse and other forms of trauma. Our Essentials & Deep-Dive packages are undergoing CPD accreditation and can be adapted for nursery, primary and secondary schools level. We can also create a bespoke package for your team in other professional settings, having previously delivered training to police, social workers, foster carers, art therapists and other charity services.

The Bluestar Pre-Trial Training Programme - The Bluestar Project
Pre-Trial Therapy is any kind of support service accessed when a report of a crime is made to the police, while that case is under investigation, awaiting charge or a court date.
The Bluestar Pre-Trial Training Programme is a day long course which includes an overview of our national research (Keeping Secrets) and key principles from the CPS Pre-Trial Therapy Guidance. This interactive course provides practical examples and skill-share opportunities that will equip you with knowledge, experience, and resources to deliver a pre-trial therapy and support service according to the Bluestar National Best Practice Standards.
The course is multi-agency training designed to support the professional agencies supporting victims and families within the criminal justice process regardless of offence type. This includes: all therapy services (statutory, voluntary), advocacy services and specialist services (e.g., ISVA, IDVA), social services, the Police, CPS and Judiciary. The course supports services supporting victims of any age.

On 25th November, we’re joining Juno Women’s Aid to Turn Nottingham Orange — a countywide show of unity during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The colour orange symbolises hope, optimism, and a brighter future, and demonstrates our solidarity with survivors across Nottinghamshire. We encourage our attendees to wear something orange and join us for a group photo to stand together for change.🧡
An international day of action on November 25th to end violence against women and girls. It encourages individuals, especially men and boys, to wear a white ribbon and take a pledge to never excuse, remain silent about, or commit violence against women. The day also marks the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Everyone can speak up this White Ribbon Day by sharing a photo or video on social media, at work and with friends and family saying why you speak up for women and girls. Use #WeSpeakUp on social media to spread the word. Together we can inspire everyone to speak up!
