Why Support Imara?

You're here, so it looks like you are already onboard with us and concerned about how many children are affected by the trauma of child sexual abuse and domestic abuse. We are too, and we know from the children and families that we work with how much of a difference Imara makes to their lives when facing the impact of abuse, and just how valuable your support is in continuing to make that happen.

As a local children’s charity based in Nottingham, we receive grant funding and are commissioned to provide a limited number of services for children affected by child sexual abuse and domestic abuse. However, with inflation and the cost-of-living crisis hitting all charities hard, and the demand from young people for our services sadly outstripping our capacity, we rely heavily on donations and fundraising to help fill the gaps in support.

Maybe you, like us, believe support should be available for survivors of sexual and domestic abuse when they are ready, and be free for them to access for as long as they need it. We also wish it was possible to give more wrap-around support to their family and the wider community around them. Anything you can give, no matter how small, will help us to deliver the specialist support that children and families deserve.
