Volunteer with Imara
We are always looking for people who can help us run our fundraising and outreach events.
Here are some of the ways you could support Imara:
Business Support Volunteer – supporting Imara’s business support team with our administration and communication tasks (Flexible hours – long-term or short-term opportunity - potential placement opportunity).
Marathon Runner – Run for Imara on 27 Sept 2026 and receive a FREE entry code for the Robin Hood Half Marathon!
Marathon Steward Volunteer – supporting Imara to man checkpoints at the Robin Hood half marathon on 27 September 2026 (half-day opportunity).
Gallery Volunteer – supporting Imara to steward the gallery for our charity art sale 26 Oct-1 Nov 2026 (one day to one week opportunity).

Become a Trustee
Like all charities, Imara is lead by a group of volunteers called trustees, who govern the organisation and decide how it is run. You may have heard of them being called board members or the board, similar to the directors of a company.
Being a trustee is a great way of contributing to a cause you care about, as well as developing your strategic and leadership skills too.
Anyone can become a trustee, regardless of your ethnicity, class, gender orientation, sexuality or career experience. We know that diverse boards make the best decisions, so whatever your skills, knowledge, age and experience, we’d like to hear from you. Our induction to the board will support you with training to understand your role as a trustee and learning what you need to know about Imara. The most important thing is that you are passionate about supporting Imara to help children and families affected by sexual and domestic abuse, and that you have time and enthusiasm to commit to the role.
